Tirasala

High Prietess Tirasala Sel'isvasell

As high priestess of the Temple of the Twin Goddesses, Tirasala is the sole ruler of the city of Mir'assen. She is known for her exceptional grace in both body and spirit, and for the wisdom of her rule.

Physical Description

Body Features

Tirasala is renowned among her citizens for her great beauty, a reputation that is well-earned. Her form is lean, but curvaceous, and she moves through the water with a dancer's grace. Her skin is a soft yellow color broken with delicate light green stripes. Her hair is black, and kept in a long, flowing mane.

Apparel & Accessories

The high priestess's ceremonial garb is very simple, even undecorated, especially considering the elaborate beauty of the surrounding temple. It, like the garb of most sea dwellers, is very unrestrictive, consisting of nothing more than tan colored coverings for her chest and waist.

Personal history

As soon as she was born, it was clear that Tirasala was special. During her birth, all of the seawater in a five mile radius tasted of honey, a sure sign that she was blessed by the divine.   Mere days after her birth, her parents gave her to the temple for them to raise. They swore they would take the best of care of the infant so marked by the goddesses. They did exactly that until one early morning, a young Tirasala wandered off into the streets of Mir'assen.   The elf girl, lost and alone, searched for hours to find her way, but was forced to give up. Fortunately, the crying child attracted the attention of a troupe of travelling performers. She couldn't tell them where she had come from, so instead they took her in as their own.   Among these entertainers, she especially admired the gentle grace of the troupe's dancers, so they taught her their arts. She grew up to be a talented dancer, herself, and her relationship with her fellows grew from that of a daughter to a little sister, then eventually a leader.   For as long as she was with them, strange things started happening. The illnesses of the troupe's animals were mysteriously cured, and the injuries of the performers found themselves miraculously healed. None linked these events to Tirasala, least of all herself.   She did know she was different from her fellows, however. Every night when she went into the elf-sleep she had visions of the Hearts of the Sea and their mournful song. She saw both the Heart of Estae in its place of honor, and the Heart of Theane in a ruin deep in the inky depths. These constant visions left her feeling an outsider, even among her adoptive family.   Then, one year before her second century of life, her troupe made a pilgrimage to the Grand Temple in Mir'assen as a celebration for their Festival of the First Summoning. As soon as she entered the great white cathedral, she recognized it instantly as one of the places from her visions. She followed the music of the Heart of Estae and found herself before the high priestess.   She stood, seemingly hypnotized by the shifting colors of the Heart until the high priestess spoke to her. They spoke at length, discussing everything from the tenants of the temple faith to Tirasala's visions and history. The high priestess embraced the young elven woman and tearfully revealed that she had been the one to care for her as an infant, and that she was a blessed child.   Reluctantly, she said goodbye to her troupe and left them to reside in the temple. It was there she learned of the true nature of the power of her blessing, and learned to control the magic it gave her. Eventually, she rose to the rank of high priestess, herself, and became bound to the Heart of Estae to protect it for the rest of her days.   Over one hundred years later, she met with a young group of adventurers known as the Cake Squad. They have maintained a friendly, but distant relationship. Most recently, they have been revealed as part of a plot by the marid Shah Orah to kill her and steal the city. They instead chose to betray and defeat him.
