The Hamlet of the Blue
The team gets a shock when checking out a hamlet a few miles to the south of Eschbach. They find it massacred and a strange bluish glow coming from a hole in the ground.
Plot points/Scenes
The team is informed by a travelling trading caravan that a hamlet they usually pass through to the south is partially ruined, and a small rocky 'thing' is in the ground in the middle of the hamlet. When they approached, they fell sick and started physically warping into something else. They couldn't approach it as it was still burning in the ground, and blue light would flash here & there in it.
When the latter happened, they hear strange screeches from all around and movement with slight blue light here & there. They left quickly and came north as quickly as possible as to get away & to report it.
If the team investigate it, they can easily find the meteorite but have some difficulty removing it. The ground is still burning for some reason, and if they get the fire out, the blue flashes potentially burns their hands even when armoured. They find that when they see the blue glow there appears to be some movement in the shadows with hints of blue flashes & screeching. When investigated they find nothing.
Further investigation of the hamlet shows a strange hulk-like shape buried from the waist down in one of the ruined buildings as if made of a wood-like substance. The search also reveals that some of the inhabitants are dead & mutated, combining parts of each other or melded together. Ther is less than there should be.
If they spend any other length of time searching the movement & screeching becomes more regular, and the glow & moaning starts coming from the half buried hulk.
In one of the hamlets, they can find a lump of lead and barely wrote note. It says something that the meteorite fell out of the sky and strange things started to happen. A tree mutated into a humanoid shape & started attacking the locals, some developed strange slightly glowing translucent skin & warped into vicious monsters. Others also started to mutate in ways that killed them quickly.
Also says that the ---- can be used to store the --------- with holy ------- on it to stop this.
They need to build a lead box or equivalent to put the meteorite in and the long they wait leads to being attacked by the Grue & Hulk in the town.
f successful they will stop any bother but if not they run the risk of the hamlet and the surrounding area being warped beyond recognition into the shape of the Far Realms.
There is the risk of a Viking wandering in not knowing what is going on. His reason could be anything but he's heard that the leasder of the closest town is always looking people take on jobs, and has the ear of a few powerful people.
Margarite lee Garou may arrive before they leave, or they arrive back, looking for a healer to help cure her friend Marcus who is ill. She's there to also check out Salapane as well and will try to get information out of her.
