Session 09: The Militia To The Rescue Report

General Summary

Fleec & Grimmas has been given to order to meet a squad of militia & a sergeant-at-arms at the east gate of Parisius. From there they were supplied with a horse for themselves & the sergeant, and a wagon for the militia. They travelled to the wooded area just outside the valley and made their way in. They were confronted by the wood elves and a group of La Tene Celts, who would watch that nothing escaped or entered into the valley.   They made their way down, camping in the tower for the night where they had strange dreams, of a being playing a lute, and three pedestals. The rest had nightmares of a being crucified, disembowelled and with a smooth helmet covering some of the dace. The sergeant had one of three pedestals and three books.   Upon daybreak they travelled down into the cavern, noting over time that one direction to their left was very brightly lit by bioluminescent fungi, moss & lichen, and ahead & to the right weren't. After a while when they reached the centre, they could see that ahead was a smaller built object or pillar of some type in the darkness, and a large building further behind.   They decided to go left and investigate the smell of rotten eggs / sulphur, wind, a strange auditory note on the wind, and the bioluminescence. They found a massive skeleton of what appeared to be a giant sitting against the wall with too many skeletal arms & hands in the shape of playing a lute, blowing out sulphurous gasses. It looked as if it had melded or grown out of the wall & floor. Grimmas tried to hit it doing minimal damage. Fleec tried covering the lute's exit, and the sheet started to mildly blow up & down. Yellowish powdery dirt was seen starting to build up. At this stage Fleec thought up throwing a burning torch at it. Grimmas initially failed dropping the torch at his feet, and on his second go got it, setting the gasses on fire.   At this point they are ready to travel back to the centre of the cavern and move to the next part.
