Bavaria

Bavaria is a Germanic country just north of Austria, south & east of Saxony, and west of Bohemia. Controlled by the Franks from the 6th Century, though only came under full Frankish control in 788 when the previous ruler Tassilo III, who was deposed by his cousin Charlemagne. It is a rugged land with a part of the Danube in it, some mountains, grasslands, and forests. Originally controlled by the Alemanni who originally belonged to the northern part of the duchy. It includes the High Rhine, the Black Forest and the Alsace on either side of the Upper Rhine, the upper Danube River basin as far as the confluence with the Lech River. It was also known to have been under the the rule of the Lombards (also known as the Langobards) for a time when they controlled Italy, and at one early stage the Celtic Boii tribe, the Romans, and has large amounts of the Barvarii Germanic tribes living in and around the country. It's capital is Munich, and the largest city in the country.
