Calvin is left behind in the maze, because of Paolo

During a field trip to the Minoan Museum Maze on Boulder Island, Paolo arranges to be paired with Calvin as they explore the maze. Paolo then ask Calvin to wait while he takes a leak. But instead he returns to the school shuttle with the other kids and tells the teacher that everyone is accounted for. The shuttle leave for the mainland, leaving Calvin begin on the last day of school before the summer. It was all part of Paolo’s bullying of Calvin. Calvin was traumatized for years and afraid of getting lost in mazes into adulthood.
