So you're Laszlo? Wow, you like work out a lot, don't you? Your steroids must be on steroids. Wait, what are you doing with that knife... don't... argh...
Viktor Laszlo grew up reading the Space Marshal Blast Bolton graphic novels and wanted to work in law enforcement, because of those comic books. He became a Police Officer in the Aeolus Metropolitan Police and for a while his dream was fulfilled.
Laszlo was very good at taking witness statements, so he got to do that a lot.
The police acquired a new supercomputer, the DaKu 5000, which was meant to fight organized crime in Aeolus City, and possibly the entire Coalition. The computer malfunctioned, by becoming sentient, and a mysterious stranger – at the time – named Darius Quentin called them and helped straighten the computer out. The sentient consciousness appeared to get removed, but the computer never really recovered, and just ended up controlling traffic instead. Darius Quentin became the most influential mob boss in the Coalition, and soon the Police were working for him instead.
Laszlo was suddenly no longer in law enforcement, but a hitman for the mob, and eliminated witnesses rather than taking their statements. Some fought back and eventually killed Viktor Laszlo, but Darius Quentin had invested in Cloning Equipment, with the ability to transfer memories from one body to another. Laszlo kept getting killed and kept coming back. The mental state of the clones deteriorated, and he went from eliminating witnesses to crimes committed by people working for Darius Quentin, to killing any witness of a crime, and then anyone who witnessed anything and made the mistake of mentioning it in the presence of Laszlo and finally he'd kill people for seeing him.
