Multipurpose Service Bot Mk I
The R&D department at the Clear Corporation planned to develop a whole series of robots that would eventually lead models that looked human. But the Mk I was such a disappointment that the whole program was canceled.
The Mk I didn’t have legs, but treads, like an excavator. Between the treads a single metal pole rose up to the torso, which was a plastic container for the CPU, Hard drive, speakers and most of the hardware components that made it an AI. At the top of the torso was two arms, a neck with a head on top. The head contained two camera lenses, a holographic recording unit and a small plastic mouth that was only decorative.
The motor that powered the treads gave the Mk I a top speed of 4 kph. A twelve year old human could get away from a Mk I without breaking into a run.
