Lars reacted much like Graham Peterson when he learned that he had gotten Chastity Clear pregnant. Though he had been drunk at the time, and barely remembered being with a girl, and never knew her name until afterwards. But still, he fled for his life, because he didn’t know that Graham had been killed anyway. Just to be sure, Lars fled to Dionysos, at a time when it was still possible to travel by passenger spaceship to Dionysos.
Law enforcement on Dionysos isn’t quite as crooked as it is in Aeolus City, so the police report and death certificate says that Lars was stabbed to death by an unknown assailant. Though there were plenty of people in the casino where he was stabbed, none claimed to have seen anything, and the holographic surveillance recording is curiously missing, in spite of a system of multiple backups.
