Eagle Hotel Building / Landmark in The Trident Coalition | World Anvil

Eagle Hotel

The Eagle Hotel is a four story structure in the middle of The Second Tear of Myrtle in central Myrtle’s Beach. It’s assembled from the same kind of kit as Barker's Tavern and both were manufactured by the same company, so they are similar in design, but not in size.

To get to the hotel you have to navigate the maze of alleyways that is the Second Tear. It is much larger and higher than most of the surrounding buildings. There’s an awning over the entrance with a holographic sign that lets people know the name of the hotel and include an animated cartoonish eagle that is picking on and eating a bit of liver. The name of the hotel and the holographic eagle are referencing the mythological eagle that repeatedly ate Prometheus’ liver as punishment for giving humans fire.

Many of the inhabitants of Myrtle’s Beach finds the name of the hotel and the holographic eagle to be a bit macabre and have petitioned Mayor Rachel Wienerbacher to make the owner of the hotel change the name and sign. The hotel is run by the previous Mayor, Francisco Gardner with whom Rachel doesn’t want any contact, if she can avoid it. She has commented on the subject, though:

The Trident Coalition is built on the freedom of its citizens. I see no reason to force a change of the name of the hotel, because that would step on Mr. Gardner’s right to be a moronic asshat.
