DaKu 1000

The first model in the DaKu Series Super Computers product line was the DaKu 1000. The manufacturer and development team didn’t know what potential customers expected of a computer, or how to market it. They arranged a big launch event in a Hotel near Poseidon Beach, where they boasted that their computer “could calculate Pi to the last decimal,” which got them in trouble with the “Ethics in Advertising Commission,” since Pi is an irrational number, so there is no last decimal. They also got laughed off the stage during the product presentation, when the computer stated that Pi was 3.789 and a half.

Six weeks later they threw a launch event for the DaKu 2000, and refused to answer any Pi related questions.
