DA P2940 “Worrier” Plasma Pistol
The "Worrier" isn't the official nickname for the gun, it has no official nickname. The name the "Worrier" came about because the standard issue plasma rifle is officially called the "Intimidator," so some wannabe comedian thought that if a rifle is intimidating, then a pistol causes worry, so they called it the "Worrier," even though that actually means a person who worry a lot. The senior officers made sure to find out who came up with it, an enlisted man in the Trident Coalition Space Fleet, and that guy spent the rest of his military career cleaning heads with his toothbrush.
The official name begins DA, for Daffodil Armaments. The second part is P, for Pistol, and 2940, the year the first model in the product line was issued.
Apart from the unofficial nickname it's a formidable weapon, that has been the standard issue sidearm in the Trident Coalition Armed Forces since 2940, when Daffodil Armaments became the leading defense contractor for weaponry.
