Act I – The Missing Midshipman
Midshipman Paolo Garcia vanishes while visiting the landmark Lake Nuwattah-Nuwattah, on Prometheus. That morning he gave an anti-bullying lecture at the high school in the nearby town, and his host for the stay in town was showing him the sights when Paolo vanished.
On Sisyphus Prime several of Paolo’s friends are on leave in Aeolus City. Paolo’s unofficial boyfriend, Corporal Trent, learns of Paolo’s disappearance and worries that Paolo has told one of his bad jokes to the wrong person and pissed them off.
Trent tries to talk his superiors into scheduling a survival training in the area of Paolo’s disappearance, but instead, the Captain of Onomatopoeia takes the ship to Prometheus and gives everyone shore leave, to attend the festival and the annual regatta, that happens in the area in a few days.
