Geography

The Blue system orbits a hot F9v (yellow white) main sequence star along with 12 terrestrial (Rocky) planets and two gas giants.

Localized Phenomena

Bulhai Freeport and independent facility located on one of the moons of Bulhai. Is a fairly modest installation with a supporting population of around 20,000 people, A completely independent spaceport where all manner of goods and services are available. This is an obvious place for a pirate haven but the operators run a legal business; barely legal in some cases but within the body of interstellar law.

History

The government of Blue lacks the capability to project power over much of the main world, let alone the star systems, so all areas beyond the starport are considered ungoverned. By convention, the world government is within its rights to consider any part of the main world's surfaces as its sovereign territory but there is no practical means- military, political or legal- to enforce any such claim. By the same conventions, a world government that cannot enforce its laws elsewhere in the star system cannot claim ownership of any resources or other objects located there. To all intents and purposes the Blue system is thus open territory. In some ways this has actually been good for the economy of the Blue. There are small settlements on several planets and gas giants moons in the system. Most are transient camps set up by mining and prospecting. One or two belong to the Aslan ihatei groups. This has raised concern with the people in the system and the Imperium as well. These camps usually start as staging posts for raids or land grabs elsewhere, but can grow into a viable colony. Those who don't want the Aslan to expand this deep into the reach have major concerns with their presence and is one reason why the Imperium is looking to establish an imperial naval base in this system. They have been negating with blue system for some time now. Another reason is the existence of Bulhai Freeport and independent facility located on one of the moons of Bulhai. Is a fairly modest installation with a supporting population of around 20,000 people, but its growing every year. The Freeport as its names suggests, a completely independent spaceport where all manner of goods and services are available. This is an obvious place for a pirate haven but the operators run a legal business; barely legal in some cases but within the body of interstellar law. Freeport is a place where items restricted elsewhere are traded openly, including high-end electronics fits for starships and military grade weaponry. The operators take great care to ensure the components they sell and fit are not stolen from pirated ships and thus far no legal challenge to their activities has been successful. The High Port of the Blue system is a typical High Port with the usuall amenities only very bland and not very creative. Business is conducted at both ports and both are kept pretty busy as trade ships in out of the system
