Occisor Coins

The Aegrus Occisor, awesome and terrible in His blackened armor, strode through the broken gates of the Verdant Palace. Ash and dust drifted across the courtyards, the last of the once vibrant gardens. By the time He passed through the archway into the Hall of the Ambassadors, His footprints had already been swallowed by the dust.

The few forces left to Molyntis mustered at the archway into the Hall of Justice, while Molyntis himself sat on the throne, exhausted. With nothing left to fuel his magic, he was helpless to fight back.

The Lord Occisor approached and raised the blackened fist of the Demon, and motes of fire burst forth. One after another exploded among the pitiful few protectors, and He did not break stride on His march to the throne. Feeble Molyntis raised his hands to ward off the Occisor, but the Lord raised His hand, exposing the golden Coin in his hand. Fear coursed through the eyes of the Defiler, then pain, as the Coin was pressed to his forehead.

The Lord Occisor pressed the coin into the skull of Molyntis, and his screams rang loud and pure. The soul of the Defiler was pulled from his body, and turned to the cause of the Occisor, long may He rule. The Occisor directed the Coin at the broken, bleeding survivors of his onslaught, and as they withered into husks, He straightened with renewed vigor.

History

As the shattering approached, the Devils joined together in an attempt to break the Jewel and reshape it to their own design. The crux of their plan was the destruction of Uborum, the City of the Gods, at the Conjunction. To this end, they created a champion, the Aegrus Occisor, and through various gifts and interventions, pushed him to conquer the entire hemisphere.

The most powerful of the weapons were provided by Oditio, though the power came from all of the Devils and a number of other entities besides. Each coin contained another being, and all of their power. The Devils disagreed about whether the Coins would control the Occisor, or the Occisor the Coins. The first Coin imbued was the Demon, and they prepared it to completely dominate the vessel.

The vessel, however, proved stronger willed, and forced the Demon to do his bidding. The Occisor took possession of all of the Coins, and used them to bind the essences of those who opposed him - and sometimes those that followed him - into new sources of power.
