Hardbuckler

Hardbuckler is a small gnomish town located at the southern end of the Backlands.

History

Hardbuckler was originally named after a famed gnome adventurer that won a battle along the stretch of road the town would be founded on.
On the 21st of Elient, 1492, the combined armies of the Council of Waterdeep clashed with the forces of the Cult of the Dragon during the Battle of Hardbuckler. Hardbuckler was the last major roadblock before the Well of Dragons and the Cult of the Dragon's high marshall, Amara the Green, hoped to stall for enough time for Tiamat's summoning to be completed. However, the Council of Waterdeep emerged victorious in the battle through clever strategy and thanks to the Breadwinners attack on Amara's headquarters, forcing her retreat.
