The Blooding Knife

Created at the direction of Kanatu Skyrunner this blade has great significance for members of the Skyrunner Tribe. Though it was thought at first any knife would do for the blood pact it was Grutuk Steelfur (Deceased) who harnessed the magical component needed for the blade to really work as intended. Crafting it from high-quality steel, silver, and powdered Azurite flux the blade holds a magical quality that allows for the blood binding to be more than a symbolic gesture on the part of the participants. This is the only blade allowed to be used in the Offering of the Blooded Feather ceremony and if lost could prevent members from becoming tribesmen for a time until another can be crafted or the original is found.

Significance

This blade is used in the Offering of the Blooded Feather ritual in which members that are not blood born of the tribe can become tied, by blood, to the current chieftain and the Tribe and become Tribesman. To the tribe, it represents the commitment of the Chieftain to the outside world as well as the Tribe's openness to accepting those not of their blood into their number through sacrifice.
