Necklace of Binding

For those individuals who wish to gain more power and prestige within the Tribe the Judgment of the Wyverns is the first step. The Rite is a long and trying one and it all starts with the creation of the Necklace of Binding. This item is crafted as a matched pair by someone that wishes to bind themselves to a Wyvern on a more personal level. The individual gathers elements of nature through various tasks and it can sometimes take a full year for someone to get all the elements they wish to incorporate into the piece. Once the crafting is finished the two items are brought before an elder druid. While the Tribe lost their senior druid and wyvern keeper in the recent attack Elder Ruhanik Eyechaser has offered to complete the services required to buy the items with magical druidic energies. At least until someone of the Tribe's own blood can take their place. These energies create a soul like with the two parties wearing the items that allow them to communicate through feelings and impressions over moderate distances as well as make it easier to understand verbal communication and even mental impressions during combat. It takes some time for a bonded pair to create the relationship necessary through the link to communicate seamlessly but over time the two can achieve perfect synergy.

Significance

Due to the unique nature of each created item, the significance is two-fold. One, it is a reflection on the one who made it as it is a representation in the physical form of their character and personality. On a larger scale, the importance of seeing such an item on an individual means that they have bound themselves to a Wild Wivern. Instead of flying over the land on a member of The Cloudlord Pride the individual has completed their Judgment of the Wyverns Rite. The owner of such an item will usually have a wyvern close at hand.

The matching set of items is usually created with things gathered in the natural world. Feathers, trophies from hunts, gems, shells, and magical items such as compressed elemental cores or rare dragon's scales. Each one is unique to the individual as an expression of their achievements and personality. Usually, these are identical when presented to a druid for their blessing though not always.
