The Sealed Kingdoms

The Laws of The Sealed Kingdoms

My goal with The Sealed Kingdoms is to hew as closely as possible to scientific truth and world consistency short of actually depicting historical events. All physical laws of the universe depicted in The Sealed Kingdoms and attendant stories are the same as ours.   While other settings I've written to contain 'magic' (i.e. Manifold Sky) may be contiguous with The Sealed Kingdoms setting, there are either explainations for how these phenomena come about (i.e the events witnessed take place within a data construct maintained by HLAI who live there) or they are considered part of the mythology of various cultures within the world (i.e. the spirit Izzetsu being a divine in the Evermornan religion and not a real and present god).

Cosmology

While several alien species evolved naturally within the Sealed Kingdoms region of the Soul Nebula, humans and their related races were brought into the Sealed Kingdoms by far-ranging Arctopelagan explorers who visited earth in 8,000 BC. Each group of humans was 'tagged' for identification through the application of gene drives - giving them minor physical differences, such as different sizes or animalistic traits - before being deposited on various worlds for future study.

Principal Geography & Features

The Sealed Kingdoms region is a bubble of space roughly 100 light years across, located along the near edge of the Soul Nebula. Interstellar gasses are more abundant in this region, but not so abundant as to interfere with the development of habitable star systems.

Initial Active Setting

Stories within the Sealed Kingdoms setting will eventually span the whole Sealed Kingdoms region, though the majority of the early work will follow the exploits of the Evermornans and Lepidosians - two groups of human-descended peoples.
