Physician
A physician is a specialized chanter who uses magic that affects the human body. This is a highly skilled area of chanting, because mistakes could have devastating impacts on unfortunate patients.
Healing magic includes things like closing wounds, eliminating tumours, clearing infection, or easing pain. Physicians do not only heal, though. Any magic that impacts the body is their domain, including aesthetic transformations, long-term hormone therapy, or breaking curses. Physicians have also been used in combat for offensive physical magic, such as turning opponents to stone or putting them into an enchanted sleep. Generally, if the magic physically impacts a living person, it is under the domain of a physician.
Like all chanters, physicians must have studied at a recognized music school and be licensed to practice. Their license will include specific details that they are specialized in physical magic.
