What better way to show strength and determination, then a friendly game of boxing - bystander before accidentally being knocked during a boxing match

History

Boxing is a tradition dating back to Kingdom of Vatia, during it golden age. It was often used to solve civil disputes if bloodshed was on the rise. Back then of course they didn't have any gloves either, so it got pretty messy by the time it was all over. This policy went out of use when courts became the place to deal with civil disputes. But it soon became a sport to them as it was away entertaining to see who would be stronger in a fight. These were originally street fights for illegal gambling. But more professional fighters would soon take their place in festivals and competitions most notably, sailors and soldiers since they knew how to take beating. These matches would soon rise to popularity as the Vatian Empire came into power and fights would regularly happen, with some even competing in the Imperial Games!

Execution

It involves two opponents facing each other in a ring that is was made with chalk, both would only punch one another in their upper body part and punching below the waist was consider illegal. The fight would not stop until one of the was beaten, either by knockout, surrendering

Components and tools

Fighters are only allowed to ware leather wraps around their hands to avoid bruising their hands, otherwise they might not be able to use their hands in their next fight. But some fight have been known to wrap metal pieces into their wraps to deal more damage even though it is considered illegal.

Observance

Boxing can be seen in many place in the Vatian Empire during festivals or daily life. But when the Imperial Games come around then all the best fighters go to compete to prove themselves in the arena.
