The Danber Gates
Stormseher and Qhalit Aldhib are the two fortresses overlooking the mouth of the Danber river. They are a result of the bitter Ando-Svebian Frontier War.
Qhalit Aldhib is the elder of the two, and the bones of hundreds of Svebians have been scattered in its foundations. A great battle took place here between Andesia and Svebia . It was a costly defeat which cemented the permanence of Andesian influence on the southern banks of the Danber, as well as the loss of much Svebian territory.
In retaliation, Stormseher was built across the river on the northern bank. It is no less imposing than its sister, although shares less of a bloody history. It has quickly become one of Svebia's most important holdings, and whoever controls Stormseher holds much suey in the Military Councils.
In previous wars there have been attempts to take control of the Danber. A Svebian military unit took control of Qhalit Aldhib once, but were then starved out successfully. Recent military doctrine has thus been focusing on control of the river through vessels. Boarding parties will attempt to take over the deck of enemy ships in traditional naval warfare. The Svebians control stronger ships and larger crews, but the Andesians are able to make use of flexibility on the river to outmaneuver Svebian warships.

Overlooking the Danber
Qhalit Aldhib focuses their attention on the Danber river. The southern bank is Andesian-controlled, whilst at the northern bank, Stormseher has been constructed to mirrors their rivals. This is to control not only trade and passage across the river. They have sentries dedicated to recognising the military vessels, as an invasions across sea or the river requires a fleet. The stalemate it has created is most beneficial for both sides, but some see it as a powder keg ready to explode. In previous wars there have been attempts to take control of the Danber. Situated on the southern banks of the Danber, it overlooks the passage of trade and military vessels. In translation it means Fortress of the Wolf. On its banners, a black wolf is depicted.
Stormseher has been constructed on the tallest cliffs of the northern banks. This makes it hard to attack by river, leading to a narrow passage up. Provision stores are kept underneath the citadel. It has been battle proven multiple times, and no successful attack has been recorded yet. A storm bird flies on its banners.
