The Realm of Svebia

Svebia is the Realm situated in the northwest. Nestled between the mountain ranges to the west and north, the xxx sea in the east, and the Danber river to the south. It is a forested lush landscape, with hills in most of the country. The fertile grasslands in the center are situated around the Elasz and Danber rivers. Svebia gains its riches from their fighting experience. Their mercenary companies are employed around Aegor, but must answer the call to duty in times of need.

History of Svebia

Svebia consists of remote villages in the far stretches of woodlands and grasslands. Some of these villages have developed to trading centers for their region, allowing for more specialization and creation of unity. These villages spent years squabbling, uniting, and breaking apart, but five regions became smaller kingdoms, along the same lines of the current Hearth Halls.   The Istevoni and the Lühe The lower lands closest to the Danber river and the southwestern coast of Svebia were home to the Istevoni. Their skills lie in the cultivation of the marshlands, raising hills out of earth and stone to protect themselves from floods, which are a common occurrence.
The Istevoni have had to rely on each other to survive this prosperous but dangerous land. Their necessity to work together has been a large benefit to the relatively quick and easy consolidation of their territory, which is relatively small, but holds great importance in the outgoing trade with other nations. The Danber river is an important trade route, and the largest port of Svebia lies in Rhenus, the capital settlement of the Istevoni and where the Hearth Hall stands.
The Gudelj and the Hersfelden The grasslands of Eastern Svebia are bountiful, where lush grain fields have provided Svebia with most of its food supplies. Cattle roams on large patches, and riders guide them between the villages and cities. Also known as the "Land that feeds", the Hersfelden are home to the Gudelj clan, who have ruled in a traditional feudal system for centuries. Stability is most important to the Gudelj; unrest and war means that fields and cattle cannot be toiled.
Today, most of the Gudelj hold important positions in towns, lordships, and military councils. Most of the heavy work is done by Svebians who have traveled to the Hersfelden to enjoy the good soil and stable society. The capital of Svebia, Schwarzald, houses the Hearth Hall.   xx and xx   xx and xx   xx and xx
