The Realm of Andesia

A pious person is an Andesian. The Virtues came into existence in its academic halls, and walks among man and woman in their every-day life more than in any other part of the Realms.
The Realm of Andesia is one of the larger nations of Aegor. Situated on the south side by the sea of xxx, to west the Realm of xxx, and to the north past the mountainrange and accessible by the Path of Iron to the Realm of xxx. Andesia is an ancient realm of proud people, who are among the last to have arrived in Aegor. They have suffered from mistakes in the past, and were among the most opposing against the unification attempt by the Seventh Kingdom.
Andesia is now among the most united Realms, benefitting from the virtuosity of her people. Although Andesians do not excel at anything in particular, their all-roundedness makes up for it more than enough.

First Arrivals

When the first refugees fled across the Waves of Misery from fleeing the Catastrophe, a portion of them settled on the south-eastern coast of Aegor. At the mouth of the river xxx they settled their first town. Some ships were turned into the first houses, although others either traveled the coast further or went up the river. They quickly spread over the fertile grasslands until they would meet either coast, mountain, or other peoples who also lived on the continent.
As time passed and the initial villages became towns and cities, their culture started to change. They learned of deities and religions that were present over this continent. A short period of intermingling of culture and religion between the new Andesian arrivals and the Lyseans, the original inhabitants of this part of the continent, can still be found in murals and paintings across Andesia, and the use of hexagons in architecture is a key element of Lysean building elements.
The highlight of this period is often associated with The Thousandth Wedding, a political move by Andesian ruler xxx to form a closer bond through marriage. Andesian nobles and other elite were handpicked to marry Lyseans of equal stature. The most important of these weddings was between xxx and the Lysean princess xxx, daughter of King xxx.
It is still of a debate between scholars and historians whether there were in fact as many as a thousand weddings. Since the Andesian arrival on Aegor was only mere decades before, there would not be an existing elite of the size that modern Andesia has. More likely there would be a few dozen sets of weddings between nobility of Andesian and Lysean backgrounds, followed perhaps by more weddings between commoners. And instead of this happening in a single event, this would be happening over the course of years, setting a precedent for more weddings to follow.
Over time the Andesian and Lysean cultures and heritage started to merge, and as time passed on, the term Andesian or Lysean became associated more to regional differences. Andesian Culture

Andesia is based off of Andalusian Muslim caliphates that ruled over large parts of Iberia and Morocco from the 7th to 15th centuries. This does not mean that they share stereotypical traits of a 'Muslim' country, but their architecture is similar to buildings from this period. Alhambra is but one of many examples.
Andesian names of buildings, landmarks and towns are also derived from a mixture of Arabic, Andalusian, Moroccan and Berber words and meanings. You may also provide a surname in English.
The Heraldry of Andesia depicts in a red outlining of a white field three central themes of Andesian history. The ships on which they sailed across the xxx sea to arrive in Aegor. The Six Virtues are shown as a six-sided star, and the Dhibmar or Red Wolf, a symbolic figure of ancient Andesian history who guided their people to safety aboard the ships. Dhibmar is also the title of the head of state of Andesia.   The simple flag of Andesia is a five-lined flag of red and white, symbolizing faith and and family.
