Jarrenvale

Jarrenvale stretches all the way from the borders of Mirkwood, to the far eastern coast of O'Valir, with its northern border running along Edengaard. For hundreds if not thousands of years, this land was extremely inhospitable to the roaming bands of nomadic tribes that live here. With great determination, these bands grew in strength and size until they were able to get on equal footing with the predators that had haunted them. It was not long after the tides had turned in favor of these nomadic peoples, that the Anorian Empire would come knocking on their western territory. The people of Jarrenvale fought tooth and nail to stop the eastward expansion of the Anorian Empire, but like many who tried before, they are now subjects of the empire and serve as the heart of it's massive labor force.

History

The first people of Jarrenvale formed into nomadic tribes venturing out into the great wilderness looking to survive, and many of them did not fare well. Those who did survive quickly formed into larger groups, settling petty differences with fellow tribes in order to defend themselves against the horrors that lurked the open plains of Jarrenvale. These tribes grew, and with that they were able to claim small pieces of territory as their own, relatively protected compared to some of the open wildlands. It was in this safety that the Dawnbreakers were formed, and one of the first edicts that came from them was that a city must be built as a trading hub, as a source of life for all the nomads in Jarrenvale. This city would be called Cornium, and it would be a central point for a number of trade routes in Jarrenvale.
These trade routes allowed for more sedentary civilizations to begin to sprout up throughout Jarrenvale. These villages grew into towns, and handfuls of those emerged as some of the larger cities that had formed in the 2nd age. This boom in population was fueled by trade routes that brought ample food into the heart of Jarrenvale. Having sufficiently tamed their wildlands, and begun expanding in population, Jarrenvale soon became the target for the eyes of the Anorian Empire. It was not long after the conquest of the Iron Hills that Imperial Legions began to march into Jarrenvale and declare themselves the rulers of wherever they pleased. For hundreds of years people from all across Jarrenvale fought against the expanding Anorian Empire, but no group stood mighty enough to resist the empire.
