Waytani - ACR Hostilities

For the past three decades the subject dominating the news feeds of the DatNet has been the discussion surrounding the ideological struggle between Waytani Industrial Aeronautics and the Afari Congressional Republic of Planets. A cold war by every available metric, the conflict is centered around the contradiction of Waytani's globalist plutocratic agenda and the ACR's isolationist tradition.
The exact beginning of the conflict is hotly contested, although many agree it began in 3182 with the ACRN's blockading of the Clyme Vault. The discovery of the Terran Mandate vault proved a clear and present danger for the ACR, who's capital world is currently the only world in the Rabian Delta with functioning pretech infrastructure. The ACRN moved to blockade the vault fearing if anyone got their hands on pretech technology then it would be used to start a war over Afari's technological wealth. The rest of the sector saw it as a move by the ACRN to secure more pretech weaponry.
Waytani saw the ACRs invasions of Ina and Thoasto as an imperialistic expansion, and an eventual threat to the Traverse and their intended plans for it. They began waging a culture war on Afari that has persisted for the last thirty years. Waytani's loose labor laws provided an opportunity for cheap labor and manufacturing so Afari corporations began outsourcing their operations to Waytani holdings in the Traverse. Student exchange programs saw the rise of Waytani Trade Schools being established on campuses and in population centers around Afair. Mass consumerization of Waytani controlled media and entertainment painted Waytani in a pleasant light.
Within a single generation Afari is now at war with itself. The human rights violations committed daily by Waytani are forgotten and replaced by students protesting the ACRs imperialism. The creeping threat of Waytani's plutocratic abuse has been clouded by the layman's belief that the ACRN is an out of control private army that needs to be recalled from distant shores or defunded entirely. Corrupt lobbyists, who made their wealth through relationships with Waytani, pressure government officials for more and more lenience and economic favor ship of Waytani and its subsidiaries. And while the ACR is facing a looming cultural collapse, Waytani's influence throughout the Traverse grows.
In an effort to stop the growth of plutocracy in the sector, while avoiding all out war, the ACR has begun funding and supplying proxy wars in the Traverse in every attempt that they can to curb the growth of Waytani's assets. This has been met with like responses in the Euribian Nebula.
