The Scribe

The Scribe was a gnomish vampire of the Eternal Empire. He was a young vampire when his leaf was conquered by the empire, but he did not bemoan his lot like his masters did (who were soon burned at the stake). Rather, he sought out the truly long lived of this "eternal" nation. The vampires he knew of rarely lived past one millenia, but rumours had it that the empire had survivors of previous Neihite seasons, living close to 20,000 years. He wanted to join this exclusive club of immortals. But prejudice between original eternals and conquered peoples was high, and to join this circle would require the Scribe to achieve great feats.   He followed two paths to achieve this goal. First, he introduced the Ordo Lamia Veritas to the empire, a multi-planar collective of vampires founded in Uz committed to the propagating of vampirism. He spent a couple centuries entrenching the order into Eternal society. After it was well established (though debatable whether it was positively viewed), the Scribe moved to the Fourth Fleet with a large number of vampire scientists. He joined the Ram Division where he set up an research and development center in the Lesvetter's Chrome Den #2 district. He chose the Ram for its apathetic ethics, being a very neutral division. There, the Scribe made headway in several different programs. A few of these programs include the Guardian Program, the G0 Program, and the Heroic A.I. Machine Learning Program. His time with the Ram garnered him the title Keeper of Knowledge, though it is mostly a formality as he had little to do with data management.   With the mediocre results of the Guardian Program and G0 Program, the Scribe was placing a lot of energy into the Heroic A.I. Machine Learning Program when the Fourth Fleet invaded the Veritian Leaf in 1102. When the Truth Plague hit, he even succumbeb to send one of his faulty G0 units G0-4W4Y to keep an eye on it. When half the crew of the Nigthingale showed up at his door mid-siege, he realized that even that program may be a dud. He did not lose faith though, for he had a tower of experiments to work with.   Despite all this arrogance, the Truth Plague took his tower. It is unknown whether he died, was infected, or froze in the Winter Contingency.
