Fishfolk Outer Isles Trade Company

The Fishfolk Outer Isles Trade Company (FOITC) is a company that runs a trade empire in the Outer Isles region, extracting the resources there to enrich the continent of Turm. It is independent to any nation or race back on the continent, but rather is subject to an alliance of nations institution which the nations of Turm all send representatives to. Nevertheless, it carries much power on its own, having its own military and currency. It is also the first line of defense for the fishfolk whenever there is aggression from Clove or Elderrot.
It was founded by a city state named Aquari Sendent, a once powerful merchant port city. But the FOITC eventually cut ties with the city to remove any ideas of favoritism amongst its clients. It now has operation stations in every city on Turm. These stations are essentially sovereign territory for the FOITC.

Culture

Over the time it was founded, a certain culture emerged in enforcing rules and proper work ethic to the FOITC majority migrant workforce. As they could only enforce serious punishment to the most heinous crimes (ones they enforce with a secret force of tortle assassins), the method they deal with other infractions is reputation destruction. While the pay is great for these workers, much worth the risk, they still walk on eggshells with the rules. One infraction could mean a lifetime of unemployment even outside of the FOITC.
