Fall, the Stillborn God

While on the stage, Fall brings death to the leaves of Neih. He is often impatient, and rushes the process while Summer is still on the Stage. He has a large distaste for Summer. But he is still a vital stage in the process of Neih. Without the leaves falling to the floor of Neih, the earth would not be replenished for the next spring. Though in his period, the leaves and their many inhabitants face devastation and destruction, the floor of Neih flourishes. During the Winter the floor is covered with snow, the Spring with water, and the Summer dry by heat. In the Fall, it actually becomes habitable. A strange breed of peoples arise then, subsisting on the rot of the falling planet-sized leaves. Though obsessed with bringing death to those above, they are adamant on survival below. They would hibernate for the three other seasons, for tens of thousands of years. Of the pantheon of Neih, they are the closes ones to demons. But, once leaves hit the floor, the Dormant tends to find its job done. If there were survivors on the leaves, they are allowed to live the remainder of their days on the floor, some of which becoming undying servants of Fall. Neih is apathetic to death but does find struggle interesting. When Fall shows up, some interesting struggle tends to ensue.

Divine Domains

Fall is the Seraph over the season of fall, where Neih's continental leaves fall to the cosmic trees surface. It is a season best known for rot and decay, a devastating future for those living through the beautiful and abundant summer season. But things bloom from the decay, and though it is not as lively as Summer, it does tend to host several regions of moderate prosperity and civilization. It is also the period of scavenging and harvest, where creatures from other Veritian planes as well as creations of Fall come and plunder the fallen worlds. Giant titanlike creatures also roam the base of the tree during this season, prized creatures to be hunted. Even with all this activity, Fall is still the domain of death in Neih, so do not expect to bring prosperity to this season.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

A withered branch, a slumbering figure, a blank face, a dead leaf.

Tenets of Faith

Those who follow Fall (mainly the Dormant Cult) tend to be seen as a death cult. They seek to bring about Fall, and thus try to destroy worlds to do so. Sleep and death are synonymous to them, seeing both as necessary and desirable. Thus, faiths that follow Fall tend to be destructive and warlike. But there is also another element of Fall worship that is more positive. As their members become so accustomed and unafraid of death, whole movements built on hospice care and acceptance have been known to emerge. On some leaves, the Dormant are seen as those ushering in a new era, and not as a threat to the world. While other Seraphs tend to be worshipped by the will of the worshippers, Fall is way more insistent and active with his followers, creating Dormant cults, and often times leading them himself in some avatar or proxy.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

To bring about himself. Fall knows he is necessary to the point where he is too eager. He knows his duty is painful for Neih, so he tried to get it over with as quick as possible. But also, the moment in between Summer and Fall is one of the more exciting times for Neih, despite the pain, and Fall revels in that approval (sometimes even moreso than the entirety of his own season of decay). He hates Summer for taking all the spotlight, distracting Neih from the important period of Fall. Fall is the most self-conscience and insecure of the seraphs, even though winter is far more boring in Neih's mind. This causes Fall to lash out even in his own season, often orchestrating large plots to make his period more interesting. It is fairly difficult to do this in a world that is decomposing, where everything is either dying or preparing to rest for the next two seasons. Thus Fall has a contradictory nature bordering on psychosis, where he wants to impress Neih with activity, yet also wants to usher in sleep and death. These conflicting natures at times compete tangibly during this season.
