Commander Lug

Commander Lug was a hobgoblin of the Yugernauch clan and soldier of the Eternal Empire's Fourth Fleet. Stationed with the remainder of his clan in the Lesvetter (the Yugernauch's use to live in the Thirteenth division, but that division was lost at the battle of Menthal), he was considered one of the greatest warriors stationed in the Ram Division. While this is not a terribly high bar to reach, the Ram being one of the less powerful divisions, the Yugernauch's paladin powers given to them by their ancestors gave them a prowess hard to ignore. Commander Lug made a name for himself fighting the Menthalese, being one of the only survivors of the last battle of the 13th division which saw the Fourth Fleet retreat from that campaign. Like the other survivors of that terrible defeat, commander Lug did not say a word of what occurred that day. While he had the respect gained from surviving, his tight lips garnered him the ire of the higher ups within the military. As the Yugernauchs were outer leaf Eternals (thus from conquered continental leaves), there was already a distrust inbuilt. This ire and prejudice combined into an order to bench the Yugernauchs into the reserves.   Commander Lug, still loyal to the Eternals, waited for orders when the Truth Plague hit the Lesvetter. Him and his paladins created a safe haven during the quarantine, but never pushed back against the infection. They remained in their sanctuary until the Winter Contingency hit, unprotected from the cold of Winter. Commander Lug is considered KIA.   Commander Lug trained Urg in his paladin ways, but never thought him a good fit to the Eternal Empire. He saw his inate distrust for machines, a distrust most the hobgoblins have but swallow, but was unable to get him to compromise. He was not thrilled with Urg being sent to the front, not liking how the ancestors favored him, nor how the Eternals ignored the obvious signs of dissention and potential defection. His worries were slighly appeased when Urg received a promotion to a special forces team after his achievements at the Cosmic Observatory, he somehow knew in his bones that the ancestors had a plan in mind for Urg. A plan of vengeance and liberation.
