Session 37: Things can't possibly continue to go wrong

General Summary

Horror campaign btw.
The Wandering Apocalypse stands within a sideroom of the Amber Temple, having entered through a crack in the walls, and unleashed a veritable mass of wild magic. Not all effects are visible, though one does stand out. Helwa, a mountain warrior, has seemingly ascended to the rank of deity, though still walking the Earth. Taking this as a gift from the Ladies Three bestowed upon her by Zana, she pledges her aid to the Wandering Apocalypse in defeating Strahd von Zarovich.
The Wandering Apocalypse sit around for a while as Andrius gets his first good night of sleep. Fidchell and Ansgar Tyr head out to collect some more mountain lions. Undaunted as they are by the massive flocks of crows and bats in the skies further down over the valley, nor the twisting clouds circling Ravenloft, they return drenched by what seems to be blood that is now falling out of the sky. Our stalwart heroes however have clearly seen much worse, as they take little notice of this strange (even for Barovia) weather phenomenon.
Into the temple they go, and straight away they come upon the charred corpse of a former wizard, as well as three Flameskulls. Zana almost immediately gets incinerated, but all manage to survive the fight and make it through. They decide to try another path, and head towards the main hall. It is here that they find a massive statue of a hooded mage, which promptly seemingly starts casting spells at them as well. Ansgar Tyr's unnaturally sharp eyes take notice of a being obscured within the hood, but they decide to tactically advance in the other direction for the time being as lightning strikes around them, once again almost turning Zana into a floating ember.
They head back up the way, heading through the dark and amberclad hallways. They come upon an ancient potion room, a set of stairs down, and a miniature of Ravenloft. They too find a set table with delicious food, though they decide to ignore this. Once again they go out into the main hall, pushing to get upon the crumbling balcony all together. Turns out, this is a bad idea, and the balcony collapses beneath them, plunging both Ansgar Tyr and Fidchell into the darkness below.
