Fidchell

Fidchell is a Symic Hybrid Infusionsmith that joined the Wandering Apocalypse during their travels in Barovia. The Wandering Apocalypse found him wounded after the caravan he was guarding was destroyed by a roaming vampire.

Physical Description

Body Features

Fidchell originally had the body of a high-elf, however being the subject of several Simic experiments has malformed his body in several ways. His arms seem to have mata-like wings sproutin from the sides and his body is covered in carapace like protrusions.
In order to appear more presentable to commonfolk he tends to wear clothing that covers most of his body and covers his face with a bird-like skull.
Despite only being 20 years of age his appearence is more akin to that of a high-elf in their late 20s/early 30s as a result of the rapid aging that affects most Simic hybrids.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Fidchell Arturo was born a normal high-elf in a Simic community. As is customary in Simic communities he was thaught the foundations of magic from a young age. However while his high-elf background should have guaranteed a position of scientist in the trials of class at age 15, he still showed no magical potential. This resulted in him being appointed to the position of scout (one of the lowest and least respected roles in the community). To increase their effectiveness in scouting and spy missions scouts are forcibly infused with magic that alters their physical form. The manta wing enhancement is common for scouts and thus the infusion went as planned. However during the infusion of the new experimental carapace enhancement a flaw in the inscriptions resulted in fidchell not only getting the intended carapace enhancement but also having a part of the magical ability of the infusionsmith performing the experiment infused in himself aswell.
Demonstrating magical abilities quickly resulted in him getting replaced to the scientist position. As the infusion inscribed more advanced magic into Fidchell he managed to rise in ranks quickly, allowing him to setup his own experiments and even be sent out to retrieve rumored magical items.
His last mission to retrieve such an item caused Fidchell to have to pass through Barovia.
