Wolf Queen

Empress (a.k.a. The Wolf Queen)

Knowing others is intelligence;
knowing yourself is true wisdom.
Mastering others is strength;
mastering yourself is true power

  • Lao Tzu
  • Unifier, liberator, savior. Tora, or as she is better known the Wolf Queen, is the latest ruler to sit upon the Imperial Throne. Unlike her predecessors, Tora is respected and venerated by those she rules. Thanks to a certain someone, she is worshiped as a goddess, and the savior of the Homeland. In truth, Tora is little more than a woman with a vision of a better tomorrow, using her skills as a diplomat and a stateswoman to build a better, brighter future for the people of the Homeland.

    Mental characteristics

    Personal history

    At a young age, Tora was deemed too weak by her family and was cast out in the wilderness to die. For many, their story may have ended here, but Tora is not most people. She was taken in by a great grey wolf mother, raised among her pack. Nobody knows why or how Tora returned to society, but when she did so, she was a young woman. Travelling among her own kind, Tora was appalled by the death and destruction she witnessed. Eternal war, hundreds of contenders fighting in a never ending contest of blood.
    She would go on to seize a minor keep in Norway, building an army of Wolf Knights. Many of these soldiers were volunteers, taken from the populations under her care. This was the first step on her ascent to power, however, it was not until she met a knight from a fallen order that her rise truly began. This knight, in return for being granted the city of Jerusalem, orchestrated a plan to seize the Imperial Throne.
    Armed with her army of Wolf Knights and sanctioned by the belief of millions, Tora marched on the Imperial Palace and slew the old Emperor, ushering in the reign of the Wolf Queen. Now, she sits atop the Imperial Throne, seeking to do what no ruler before her could: unify the Homeland's warring nations into a single, cohesive empire.

    Accomplishments & Achievements

    Even as a young girl, Tora survived being abandoned by her people. Additionally, she overthrew the most powerful ruler in the land and declared herself the first female ruler of the Empire.
    Additionally, she has succeeded in reshaping the Empire's policies. She created a kinder, gentler Empire which rules with an open palm, rather than an iron fist.

    Intellectual Characteristics

    One of Tora's best talents is knowing how to put the right person in the right place. Though she is not exceptional as a military leader, or as a religious leader, she is skilled at gaining the respect of those who are, and putting them exactly where they are needed. Additionally, she is a skilled diplomat, and extremely skilled at reading others. For others to fear you is one thing, but for them to willingly follow you to Hell and back is another entirely. You couldn't pay for that kind of loyalty, and that is exactly what she instills in her followers.

    Morality & Philosophy

    "“Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates love.”

    -Lao Tzu
    Tora is an exceptionally kind ruler, especially in a generation which knows only war. She prefers to earn the loyalty of her subjects, rather than immobilize them through fear. To the Wolf Queen, genuine belief in her is worth more than any amount of terror. After all, a frightened person will one day work up the courage to rise against their tyrant. Few have the courage required to attack that which they love.

    Taboos

    Tora is strongly against any unnecessarily cruel treatment. She believes that there has been enough suffering without her adding to it, and therefore looks down on the mistreatment of any living creature. She is no pacifist, after all she is locked in a civil war, but needless killing or cruelty is largely forbidden in her regime.
