Union of Eleutheria
The Union of Eleutheria is a country that came into existence during the new dark age that followed the Grate Conflux in the land that was one's part of the old-world nation America that Eleutheria is attempting to model itself of the old, united states ideals of liberty and Justice.
Structure
The Union of Eleutheria is a democratic Federation of a number of states and territories. The states of Eleutheria are the most developed areas and by the standards of the new dark age are the safest places you can be in north America. And were the Eleutheian government has most control. All states are allowed to send two representatives to act as their senators. How ever the population in the states must follow all laws in the Eleutherian constitution and pay all Eleutheria taxes.
The Eleutherian territories is the land that the Union of Eleutherian's government does not fully control and is usually in or on the edge of the new frontier. frontiers dangerous which is a real luxury for most in the post-conflux world as well as have established trade routes their
Some of the benefits for living in the territories is that Eleutherian citizens living in the territories do not have to pay many of the taxes that citizens in the states are required to pay. And the territorial governments and communities are allowed to be far more self-governing then in the states and are allowed to have many of their own laws. Territorial governments can be tribal warlords, military leaders, or your town's sheriff.
History
The Union of Eleutheria started out from the university of Mislatonic's campus buildings that in the Pre-Conflux time was one of the most prestigious universities in the country and was also secretly a Beowulf facility. With the Beowulf scientists and the newly founded paladins of Nimbis founded the new settlement of Mislatonic.
After the settlement of Mislatonic was made safe and had reliable access to food and clean water they began reaching out to other nearby communities offering them clean water, food and protection in exchange for agreeing to become citizens of the new nationlabor
As Miskatonic continued to grow annexing more and more communities as well as rebuilding pre-conflux infrastructure to support a growing population as well as finding new forms of transportation and manufacturing, clearing road and rail lines, fostering trade establishing an official currency and even annexing another major city of Arkham. It became clear that Mislatonic security forces could not continue acting as the only government. After some major debate it was decided that a new country will be formed that modals its government on the pre-conflux United States becoming a federal republic and this new nation would called the Union of Eleutheria. In this new Union the city of Mislatonic will be its capital the formal Mislatonic security forces will become the new Union's military well the Watchdogs an organization that have been annexed from Arkam will become the Unions Peacekeepers
The Union of Eleutheria now exists as a federal republic with an executive, legislative and judicial branche. Also were supreme authority rests in the Union's council which is overseen by a directly elected President and vice President.
Religion
The Union of Eleutheria allows freedom of Religion and a policy of the separation of church and state. The Union of Eleutheria allows every non-radical religion in its borders so long as the policy separation of church and state is maintained, does not participate in human sacrifice and dose not involve the worship of Eldritch or outer gods.
Well allowing freedom of religion the majority of the population of Eletheria worship the deities of the Kadath pantheon. Depending on the state or region one god maybe favored over another.

The Union of Eleutheria's government is led by the Federal senate made up of elected leaders from its states. The states are allowed to choose their representative how they see fit. How ever all states are required to pay Union taxes and send troops to help defend the Union and its territories. One thing that the population in the states and the territories have in common is that all Union citizens are allowed to vote for the Union president.
There are three major political parties in the Eleutherian senate.
