Natsuo Tsuchimikado
Natsuo Tsuchimikado is the disinherited elder son and former heir of the famous and powerful Tsuchimikado Clan of onmyōji. While he was born with amazing magical talent and intuition for onmyōdō due to him being the reincarnation of Ashiya Dōman, his family shun his talents, and his existence is kept a secret from the wider onmyōdō community. He was eventually recruited by Ryūichi Kurosaki to join Jitsugetsu Mahou Gakuen as a student, and upon agreeing to his disinheritance from the Tsuchimikado Clan, he was allowed to enroll with his real name.
History
Before his death, Ashiya Dōman performed a ritual to reincarnate himself into the body of a descendant of Abe of Seimei. This turned out to be Natsuo. Natsuo’s father, being the head of the Tsuchimikado clan, had been warned of this potential when he inherited the role, and when his wife was pregnant, he discovered that his unborn child was carrying an unusual spiritual energy for a Tsuchimikado. It was after Natsuo’s birth that his father confirmed he was the reinarnation of Ashiya Dōman and was hidden from the onmyōji community, though Natsuo was never told why.
One day, while visiting a hot spring he frequents, Natsuo meets Ryūichi Kurosaki who is recruiting for a new school. Natsuo carefully declines the offer, making sure that he did not reveal his full name or his powers. To his surprise, the teacher shows up to his family residence the next day, asking for the clan head, Natsuo’s father, to have Natsuo enrolled in the new school. Natsuo is shocked that the teacher found out about his family from such a brief encounter, in spite of Natsuo’s effort to remain inconspicuous. He is even more surprised when his father actually agreed to have Natsuo enrolled, using his real name. Natsuo, ecstatic, prepares for his new life away from the Tsuchimikado Clan.

Inspiration & Trivia
- The Tsuchimikado Clan are the descendants of the legendary onmyōji, Abe no Seimei. Members of the main family typically have the kanji of a season (spring, summer, fall, or winter) in their given name. For Natsuo, this is 夏 (summer).
