Basilisk *WIP*
Rumors and legends say that there is a 'king of serpents', an olm mother, that people liken to the basilisks myths of Old Earth *WIP*.
The Dragons *WIP* the people find in wells are juveniles. The mother wyrms/olm mothers live deep in the Dwarf Caves and there are several of them. They are telepathic and well call to people to try and get them to wander into a deep pool so they and their young can eat. They are the reason the Dwarfs took the homewood from the Elves; they needed an early warning system. They are also the reason Dwarfs live surrounded by noise; they need something to drown out the whispers. When the Dwarfs first dug too deep and actually found a wyrm mother (haven't picked a name yet), it didn't stop them from digging. Being too greedy to not dig and just leave the dragons alone, the Dwarfs took the homewood to "fix" the problem.
Seeing its reflection in a mirror or shield, a basilisk will think its another basilisk and back away not wanting a fight.
Used in alchemy/alchemists *WIP* as a symbol for fire. Because they live in such proximity to lava?
