Draiden Cully University
Errath's most renowned university of knowledge, both magical and mundane, founded in the city of New Caliber by one of history's more unorthodox archmagi and a founder of The Imperial Republic of Addam , DCU is famous world-wide. Students have sought to study at the Seven Towers for two hundred years, and the staff of the university work hard to keep the tradition going. While most famous for it's magic program, most of the students at DCU are in more mundane programs, and the university has worked to expand its scope ever since it was founded. Draiden Cully himself ensured that. Philosophy, education, anthropology, medicine, religion, law, business... every knowledge seems to have a program or two dedicated to it here. But while the majority of university facilities now serve the natural scholastic fields, it is the seven towers that it is most famous for.
Structure
The university is broken up into the Seven Towers, based on the seven schools of magic. Each college has a chancellor, who oversees a number of departments. Each department is run by a dean, who oversees the faculty of the department.
Assets
Some of the most powerful mages in the world, and some of the most advanced magical research facilities.
History
Draiden Cully was a generalist mage, or as he would put it, a master of all schools. He insisted that each school should be taught fully, and knowing that many practitioners liked to specialize, he had a tower founded along the northern Calibre Bay coast for each, forming a semicircle around the central complex. The one exception was the school of Divination, whose first chancellor requested that the school make its home in the college library. Its said that while Cully was Archchancellor he enjoyed playing up the rivalries between the schools, whether to strengthen the college bonds or just for his own amusement depends on who is telling the story. The Seven Towers became the nickname for the college, and has endured to this day despite the changes that came from the Dragon War. Only seven towers now stand, and one has been completely re-purposed. The towers are listed in alphabetical order, but along the coast, going west to east the circle goes - Enchantment, Illusion, Evocation, Abjuration, Artifice, Conjuring, and Transmutation.
