Taking up the northwestern corner of Somaj , Danamm is an ancient land of tropical forests, mountains, and beautiful coastline leading into the Alsun Desert that takes up much of the northern continent. Danamm is a mostly Human land, with large interspersed populations of many other races. It is said all in Danamm, regardless of species, creed, or gender, are all judged equally... by their wealth alone. The merchants of Danamm have long been the true power of the country, and many see Addam's rising Merchant Lords as a good sign. Trade is the lifeblood of the nation, moving along elaborate roads through the jungles and mountains and into the desert, and Danamm's merchant princes compete for having the most beautiful, well defended, or pleasant cities. This attitude has made Danamm a focal point for the rising industry of tourism, especially for the wealthy.
The beauty and luster of the cities is a finely crafted image, but it hides the corruption, crime, poverty, and other problems the cities face. Danamm has a long history of slavery that was only ended within the last hundred years due to international pressure. The underground markets are said to still trade in flesh, as well as everything else that could be found. Indeed if there's anything that draws visitors more than tourism, it is the black markets of Danamm. Many of the underground merchants are now trading in artifacts of the Dragon War , especially ones that are now illegal, or are pieces of unknown magic or technology.
