Margret Emberborn
Queen Margret Emberborn
Margret was the fifth ruler of the Emberborn kingdom. Margret became queen in 531 after both her father Edgard Emberborn and younger brother Robert Emberborn had perished during Incursion. However, because she was a woman her advisors urged her to get officially appointed by the High Flame Assembly rather than assuming everyone would accept her as the new supreme authority. Queen Margret ruled the Emberborn people for over 200 years and was widely loved by her people. She was aided and mentored during her reign by her uncle Maladred, who reassumed the position of Commander General after he returned from the shadowlands.
Once elected it quickly became apparent that Margret did not share the same beliefs of her father or grandfather in that the Emberborn should rule the Valley. Rather, she saw more potential in collaboration. The months following the conclusion of the Incursion she spent convincing the nobility of her house and the Emberborn people of the error of their past ways. Margret was a great orator and after gathering enough support she publicly supported the establishment of The Coalition and relinquished their control over all Cinder districts beyond Zircon.
Margret and her husband died in 756 under mysterious conditions. She left behind one daughter, Elaysa Emberborn, to who she had devoted a lot of time preparing her for the crown.
