The Lost Valley

The Lost Valley is located in the northern reaches of creation, hidden in the mountain ranges south of Rubyvlak. It is an oasis of lush farmlands, thick forests and small streams that surround a center basin called the Cerulean. This lake owes its name to the dim sky blue color of its water. The origin of the Valley is hard to determine. But the extraordinaire depth of the Cerulean in some places, along with the remnants of volcanic activity along its eastern edges point to it being a scar left by geological anomalies from days long past.   In present-day, the Valley is home to several rivaling kingdoms and factions that together form the Coalition, a governing body that tries to maintain the fragile peace in the area. To the south of the Cerulean the kingdom of Corundum, ruled by the Stalwart dynasty, still endures as a testament to human fortitude. To the north of the basin lie the Heartlands. These lands are home to the Mapleheart people, a warm and brave nation of farmers. To the west, at the proverbial entrance of the valley, lies the Emberborn kingdom, the most wealthy and historically most imperialistic nation in the valley. Besides these three kingdoms, there are several other powerful players that sit at the table of the Coalition. The most noteworthy are the Mistrals, a hardy peace-loving people that call the harsh northwestern mountain ranges their home and the Chamber of Trade. The latter of which governs the Hub, the most important trading post of the valley located on the biggest island in the lake. Finally, there are those that others call the free folk, a rather loosely associated collection of tribes that lives in the forest east of the lake. Per the agreement, they have a seat at the table of the Coalition but have so far never sent a delegation to any of the meetings.
