Prince of The Mistrals - Cygnerius Mistral
Cygnerius Mistral is the great grandson of Vaïnamon himself. Cygnerius is a dragonblood exalted with an affinity for water. He is a friendly and kind young fellow, who throughout most of his young life has had not much going on. He didn't particularly care about studying or learning the ways of the sword. He was a dreamer, and the family accepted him as such.
However when his older brother Decimyan diad 10 years ago during Maladred Calamity. the line of succession fell upon him. Vaïnemon started grooming him the day after his brother burial, because he did not want the light in Cygnerius eyes to be put out by realities' crewel grasp. In his attempt to teach him a way, besides the way of the sword, Vaïnemon called in the help of Sirana Mistral to start teaching him all she knows about the Valley and its people.
Even though Cygnerius does not yet have a lot of experience, he has shown great promise and he has already won over many of the common folk. Yet his some of his own family, Lyrna Mistral and Vyronius Mistral in particular are less hopeful. They believe Cygnerius is too weak to defend the province in case another Maladred arises and they have tried tirelessly to make Vaïnaemon select another heir, something the old man is loathe to do.
Cygnerius on his part has taken Lyrna’s and Vyronius’ dislike of him in stride and he firmly believes he will be able to change their opinion of him. It is for this reason he joined the training program to join the The Mistrals' Eye; while continuing his lessons with Sirana. He hopes that by showing is aunt and uncle his willingness to learn from them, they in turn will be willing to see things his way.
