Iron Timber

Iron Timber is a vast and ancient wood that has stood the test of millennia. It is made up coniferous, deciduous, and even stranger trees. Home to a nation of Wood Elves and an allied tribe of Centaurs, this wood is not a place for forestry and hunting. Though bountiful, the Iron Timber is a dangerous and deadly living place. It is said that trees here have roots that go so deep as to connect to trees as far away as Vaasa, Arcata and Thar.
The Wood Elves of Iron Timber live throughout the entire wood treating the entire span as their sacred home. They view it as their responsibility to protect it, and feel that in return the Iron Timber will protect and look after them. This has proven to be at least partially true, as the wood was never taken nor held by outsiders during either of The Boodstone Wars. They are skittish and generally xenophobic with non-Fey they encounter inside their realm.   They are peaceful but will defend the wood with a surprising ferocity. Rarely, an individual from their nation will experience a wanderlust, and a desire to see the world beyond the wood. Often these rare Wood Elves become adventurers. It is a common saying among their nation that "the Heart will always be tied to the roots of the Iron Timber, if you are a true Elf" and so wanderers are welcomed back into the fold should they wish to return.   The Wood Elves and Centaurs have a strong alliance and an ages old agreement to work together along with the other various sylvan creatures. There are spots in the Iron Timber where the veil between Faerûn and the Feywild is very thin and it is possible to wander into the faerie realm if one is careless. There is a tentative trust developing between the inhabitants of Iron Timber and the humans of Breaking Bluff - but it would not take much to derail this fledgling relationship.

Weapons fashioned from the branches of the trees of Iron Timber are often harder and stronger than those from normal trees. Iron Timber constructed weapons also take to magical energies with greater ease and are sought after by Enchanters. The arrows made by the Wood Elves of Iron Timber are always recoverable after a battle (they do not break). The inhabitants generally do not greet such 'harvesters of material' in a friendly manner if they are caught in the act.   Khirk-Fiodh   The City of the Centaurs is really more like an encampment around a very important immovable landmark. It is used as an organizing site for the Centaurs, Wood Elves and any allies that they've made who are more accustomed to having a fixed location for their home instead of just a migration pattern through the forest. Its largest feature is the Cloch Daur (loosely translated as 'stone-great-tree') which is said to be a petrified Treant (Ent) that gave its life battling a Gorgon riding Black Guard in a time long before Zhengyi was even master of Vaasa, perhaps before the Iron Timber was even the vast forest it is today.
Khirk-Fiodh
The City of the Centaurs & Wood Elves
A Khirk-Fiodh (a group of slanted barn like structures used for storing food and dry goods, and things that cannot easily travel) is what the Centaur people call such a site. Around the Khirk-Fiodh are some residences used by powerful inhabitants of the forest (such as Belia Reia) or Wood Elves who require long term rest and care. There is a massive structure they call a "bin" where they keep food, and there is a stone structure they use for discussing matters of the outside world. There are some buildings used for storing records, as they are, and then facing the Cloch Daur is a construction of the Wood Elves called the Nimloth'Othrond (loosely translated as 'forest-city').
