Planet 237-121
Given the vast and sometimes unrecoverable damage sustained to Earth and other inhabited planets prior to the formation of the Steel Empire, it is regularly searching for places to relocate displaced human populations. This effort continues well into the current day, and is the reason for the colonization of Planet 237-121. The planet is nicknamed Ithaca by the humans who would come to inhabit it.
Terraforming technology is imperfect and difficult to implement, so a world that is already fitting for human life are prized and preferred. Humans living in polluted worlds are provided transport and supplies in order to move and successfully colonize planets.
Colony 1 was the first to be established, with the goal of paving the way for future inhabitants. It consisted of humans will necessary skills for establishing a fresh colony, and a few robots to lead and coordinate efforts. Its primary mission was to setup power and utilities, begin gathering resources, and begin agricultural efforts. It was established near a river and at the foot of mountain containing valuable ore, to begin creating hydroelectric power and mining materials.
Colony 2 was established much more recently, and is special in that it was the first for the planet to include families, often of the workers who joined the first colony. It was meant to continue the efforts of the first, using the resources the first established and aid in continuing to build infrastructure for further colonies. It was established downriver of the first colony near plains with plans to begin large-scale agriculture.
After the outbreak of the Fungal Disease and the destruction of the first colony, Planet 237-121 was placed under quarantine, any ship attempting to leave the planet will be destroyed. A collection of scientists and concerned citizens send supply drops to help sustain the remaining colony and aid attempts to cure and curb the disease. Otherwise the planet, and its current inhabitants, may be doomed to succumb to the disease.
Geography
An Earth-like planet that needed no terraforming to be habitable for sapient life, a relative rarity in the Steel Empire. As much it includes Earth-like terrain, mountains, plains, forests, oceans, and so on.

It goes through seasons much like Earth, though the exact timing is different.
Localized Phenomena
The emergence of the fungal disease upon the surface was unlike anything previously witnessed by human or robot observers. The mechanisms and origin of the disease are unknown. This was the reason for the quarantine of the planet and the installation of weapons platforms across its orbit.
Natural Resources
Because it is a hospitable planet, it is prized for the ease of resource extraction.
