The Thorns Wood

The Thorns Wood is an area in The Secluded Wilds. It used to be a dense jungle like the rest of the wilds, however, a few months ago the trees began to wither and great vines of thorns sprouted in the area. Now the place looks like a decayed forest, denser than ever, full of dead trees and humongous thorn vines. It is now considered a cursed area, with no Meydian being willing to travel through this place, not without good cause at least. This is much to the dismay to the people of Greenpath , as well as the nearby feline tribe they often trade with.
Not long after the Thorns Wood appeared, demon activity in the province increased majorly. Normally, it was rare to see a single demon in years, given the part of The Ashlands that borders Meydia is so inhospitable. Yet, ever since the woods have been here, stray demons have been sighted on almost a weekly basis. This makes many believe that the Thorns Wood is some kind of spawning ground for the monsters, or might even contain a passageway to the underworld or something. Then again, there are still plenty of people that believe that the demons have simply found a way to cross the Sleeping Wastes and that their presence has corrupted a part of the Secluded Wilds. Perhaps the jungle isn't as secluded as the name implies, not anymore at least.
Sadly, The Hunting Brigade has its hands full with trying to deal with the demons that made its way into Meydia and other problematic wild life, short handed as they are. The Rangers of Ash won't be of much use for this problem either, given they have no presence in Meydia yet, and will likely never have. So, as long as the imperial military does not send out any reinforcements to deal with the demons, it unlikely that the incursions will stop any time soon.
