A Broken Machine

In the depths of Blue Path Mine lays a broken Warforged, who has been severely damaged by the invading demons. The Warforge has been send by the Miner's Guild to help with the excavations.  The players may stumble onto him when going through the Blue Path Mine; dungeon. The Warforge will be within an inch of his, he will stutter about his purpose being to extend the mines and collect ores and gems. He will tell the players that he needs to collect a precious stone. The players will be able to find a gemstone somewhere in the dungeon, which can be given to the Warforged. When that is done, the Warforge will shut down happily. As a final action, it will open up its chest, presenting a Machine Core. The players can take the core and use it later on in the adventure.
When the players are traversing The Ancient Tower, they will come across an undamaged Warforged who has its core removed. By inserting the Machine Core into the Warforged, it will come back to life and join the party as a companion for the remainder of the dungeon. Once the players reach the end final few floors of the dungeon, the Warforged will refuse to continue on, stating it is its duty to defend the lower floors.
