Oldwalls
Oldwalls is one of the largest cities in Kovus, and the oldest by far.
It was the Capitol of Kaldya until it was conquered by King Vannon Alessia, King of Varenya during the Subjugation Wars.
Oldwalls gets its name from the fact, that its middle city walls are the remains of the fortifications of the elven City of Ixcapan, called the Eldenwall, and its inner city walls seem to predate even the Eldes.
It is located on the north bank of the Manesse in the plains of Central Kovus.
It is unknown when the city was founded, but the walls and buildings of the city show signs of being even older than the City of Highhalls.
The city has been contested between kingdoms for all of recorded history, first being held by the Hatusu Kingdom of Asdu during the Age of Unity.
It was later captured by the Varin Kings of Norten around 584 VK.
During the Wars of the Kalii it was taken by forces loyal to Markus Eppen ind 643 VK and used as a base of operations for many years.
In 801 during the Six Year War it was conquered by King Vudrak of Salina but it passed back to the Kaldyans after the war.
Demographics
The City of Oldwalls has a mostly Ephian population, but has a significant Varin minority, as well as Hatusu minority.
Defences
The City is divided by its three sets of walls, the Old wall, which surrounds the Heart of Time and is the only surviving defensife structure from the time before the Eldes and the Eldenwall. The New settlements, which have developed outside the Eldenwall are surrounded by the third wall, called the New Wall.
Industry & Trade
Lying on the Manesse, Oldwalls has always been a center of Trade passing between the Ibben Sea and the Koven Highlands. The surrounding lands are fertile and Oldwalls is on of the greatest exporters of Grain and Timber south of the @Kheen.
Infrastructure
The City of Oldwalls is very noticably split into three epochs.
The oldtown, called "Heart of Time" has a unique architecture, that is only found in one other place in all of Kovus: the ruined city of the weeper.
The Heart of Time itself is surrounded by tylpical Eldes architecture, which grows out into Ephian and Varin neighbourhoods.

Architecture
The walls and buildings of the city show signs of being even older than the City of Highhalls, as the architecture of the inner city more resembles that of the city of the weeper, then anything else in Kovus.
The Elden City, which stretches between the Oldwall and the Eldenwall is a mixture of classical Elden architecture and more modern buildings, which have replaced destroyed Elden ones.

Natural Resources
The lands surrounding Oldwalls are some of the most fertile in all of Kovus, they produce grain, timber and many other resources.
