New Sydney
The first city founded on Polluxia, New Sydney was named after Sydney Australia on earth. It was given this name because of the nearly perfect replica of Australia's coastline at the planets northern pole. While that continent on Pollux is not good for settling, the original founders wanted to pay homage to it.

Demographics
Like most of Polluxia, the population of New Sydney is extremely diverse. All the human population, from various homeworlds makes about 45% of the population. The other 55% is a nearly even mix of the other technologically advanced races, except for the Poth’tox which do not live here, but may be passing through. The Aurax, being a lower tech species is rare here. Usually the ones that are on the planet are employed as bodyguards for the wealthy.
Infrastructure
New Sydney started as a port city, so there are several landing pads for medium sized and smaller ships throughout, and around the city. It is large enough that small shuttle pads are common within the city bounds as well. Near the southern end of the city, where most of the original landing pads are, there are several warehouses and factories. The factories tend to make parts for ships and robots, supplying the repair depot with parts.
Tall skyscrapers, reaching 50-80 stories abound through the city. Housing, or providing office space for, diplomats, corporate executives, traders, and local employees.
Tourism
The nearby ocean provides some pristine beaches for recreation. The downtown core has lots of businesses, such as specialty shops and restaurants, as well as a vibrant nightlife to explore. The local Galaxy's Pearl hotel has over 6000 rooms on it's 80 floors of space. The top 30 floors are the luxury suits, with the top 4 floors having massive suites.
The sports complex in the northwestern part of the city has several sports teams and competitions regularly. This includes one of the four Robot Fighting League arenas. There is also arenas, or fields, for many other sports. Some examples are soccer, baseball, springball, hockey and others.
Geography
Built along the coastline, New Sydney is in a fairly flat area and only has slight changes in elevation. It is in an area of sparse vegetation, mostly grasses and bushes, and small trees. The area was chosen because there was no need to clear-cut any forests to make room for buildings.
