Robot Fighting League
The Robot Fighting League is an organization produces shows of matches with robots fighting. The matches occur on one of 4 worlds, but are holo-broadcast through subspace using the tachyon relays in the nav beacon system. This allows for broadcasts to only take only minutes to reach the furthest parts of the known worlds.
The fights happen in a 30 foot wide fighting pits that are enclosed by 10 foot walls, with a domed shield above that to ensure the audience safety at the live show. The holo broadcast is often shown in arenas built to replicate the live location, but also gets shown in bars and other large gathering places.
There are specific rules, and classes of robots allowed. None of the robots are allowed a full AI. Their only "personality" is programmed in for showboating. Some examples of design rules are, no more than 4 legs, and no more than 6 limbs total. The metal plating can be no more than 15mm thick, and electric shock based weapons are banned. Weapons that are ranged have a limited effective range of 3 meters.
One of the fan favorites is a bot named Firestorm. He once melted the control servo of Goliath's neck using heat projection weapons on his torso. Goliath was retired due to the difficulty, and cost of replacing the entire head and neck assembly.
Show Schedule
Each of the 4 live locations shows once per week. Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. Holo broadcasts can be watched at the locations that the live shows would regularly occur in, though tickets are quite expensive, so a lot of people watch at other venues, or on their home holo tables.Leadership
