Calistan Knight

Rank and title granted to a Knight of the Calistan Order

Qualifications

Knights of Calistan must demonstrate bravery and honour, and must submit to training and testing for horsemanship, swordsmanship, archery and piety.

Requirements

A knight of Calistan must be at least eighteen years of age, and must have served as a squire for at least one year.

Appointment

The appointment and investiture is performed by a noble or a knight-commander, once permission has been granted and the candidate deemed worthy.

Duties

Knights of Calistan serve their House and lands faithfully, protecting the smallfolk, adjudicating minor disputes, and protecting the interests of their liege lord. When called to battle by their lord, they must answer the call without wavering and honour their orders, even if it means their death.

Benefits

Knights of Calistan receive food and lodging at any of their lieges holdings, and can expect good treatment when travelling across Banteave.  In time, they can be granted land and additional titles if they serve their liege well.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

A Knight of Calistan can be stripped of rank by the Knight Commander or by his liege lord.
