Witchhold (former)
Once the realm of Granny Longtooth, now what was a dark demiplane has returned to being part of the Feywild - a fetid, chilly swamp with the lingering feeling of evil and populated by Will-o-wisps.
Though it sits not far from beautiful forests and the majestic fountain of light that represents Daring Heights in the Feywild, this swamp still rejects light, with deep shadows hiding treacherous bogs. The water is freezing to the touch and the reeds beneath the surface grasp and cling to any passers-by.
Perhaps one day this area will return to a safer temperament, but currently it is decidedly unsafe.
Geography
Currently, it is an unhappy representation of a Feywild swamp - an embodiment of ruin and decay about 2 miles across. For a time, however, this was a different place.
When the Crones' Nest stood, a dome of swirling fog and shadows enclosed the area Granny had claimed, making it impossible to see inside, though passing through was as easy as stepping through the dark wall. Inside, swamp water frequently went up to travellers' knees (or higher) as twisting paths lit by torches burning with green flame led them towards the centre of the land.
It was a nightmarish landscape with a yellow-tinted sky that only ever got as bright as a cloudy evening light. Trees died and rotted out, leaving only leafless trunks with gaping holes like faces.
