The Oceania Invasion of the Quattuor

Attempted Invasion of Oceania by the Quattuor - Era of Man in the Fragmented Timeline   In the distance, off the coast of Oceania, Rinse, the Water Genasi, notices a ship with a sailor waving down people for help. Using his water abilities, he was able to make his way to the ship and found it empty. Appearing out of a portal onto the ship, Aerias appears and faceplants, and the two of them team up to find out what's going on. They enter the dining hall on the ship to find all the sailors tied up, and three 4 armed humanoids holding them hostage. Stealthily, the two managed to get the upper hand and knock all of the people out except for one of the 4 armed behemoths. Speaking in a language they couldn't understand, the duo was obviously concerned about this mysterious race of aggressive monsters. They were able to swiftly dispatch the monster, and the second one of the group was able to will himself awake and fight the men. Losing again, the two prevailed. Aerias managed to tie the last 4 armed monstrosity up and was able to get some questions out of him before he was put back to sleep and inevitably died. This humanoid told Aerias, through his comprehend language spell, that they are a race of evolved humanoids named the Quattuor, and they were driven to near extinction long ago. The men of the Quattuor thrive on violence and want to all that they can to take over and drive humans to extinction, repaying them for what they did to their race. Only a handful of settlements remain, in the Collosi Desert of Terra Desertia, and no documentation of them exist. Rarely does anyone survive an encounter, until this couple of weirdos get the upper hand.   This Quattuor was different than the rest though, his name was Sol and he was more on the passive side and wasn't a fan of all the violence and gore, he believed the best way to survive and evolve was to forgive, not to slaughter. But the Quattuor thought otherwise, and brought him along to this ship heist to prove him wrong. Clearly, he was actually right. His name was Sol and he managed to tell Aerias about the firearms that the leader of the 3 used. They are specially designed by the Quattuor to use their fiery/acidic blood as projectiles to maim opponents. This causes them no harm, but for other beings, it drains their life essence. The duo fall under siege from another ship, which cracks the hull of the boat and starts to flood the dining hall. Rinse, using his water abilities was able to stop the would be invaders from getting to their room. Before that, he is able to find out that the invaders are another group of Quattuor, sent to join up with this group, if the plan went accordingly that is. The Quattuor on the boat aimed and fired a cannon, but the trio managed to send the cannon ball careening towards Oceania, where it landed safely on top of a building. Using Rinse's water abilities, he crafted an ice slide and the trio, as well as the rest of the surviving sailors were able to safely slide to shore. Before leaving, Aerias used fire to light the boat's shipment of gunpowder and caused a massive explosion that sank both ships and killed the Quattuor invaders, as well as Sol (supposedly).   The sailors saved from the Quattuor invasion were sent by the guards of Oceania to a nearby hospital, a couple hundred yards from the city gates of Oceania. The next day, the party notices a guard stumbling in front of the tavern, with his intestines in his arms, leaving a trail of blood, and collapsing in the center of town. A loud explosion from out of town is heard, and soldiers and civilians are seen running into town, some on fire, some bleeding. Guards get sent out, and the party follows, and as they come closer to the initial explosion, another rings out, allowing the party to see the smoke coming from the distance. They approach the hospital lightning fast, and notice more and more bodies, some civilians and nurses, some soldiers, all beaten and bloody, some burnt to a crisp.   The hospital is on fire, with no survivors, except for one. A person is seen by the duo on the second floor, screaming and waving at a side window. Popota runs into the burning building, while Aerias chases after a shambling mysterious man, who was spotted hobbling into the forest, wearing a tattered sailors uniform. Hurricane (who showed up to save Popota) and Popota notices that the shocked survivor acts strangely and questions the integrity of this man, who, after closer inspection, has a burnt sailor uniform, indicating that he is one of the sailors from the Quattuor boat incident. Aerias managed to find the way back to the hospital, where Hurricane is, staying with the sailor survivor from the building. After some strange words from the Kenku, Aerias manages to get the catatonic man to react to him. The sailor screamed and attacked Aerias, and started contorted and screaming in an inhuman way. He suddenly grows two more arms, just below the ribcage, on both sides of his body, looking like a Quattuor now. They manage to fight this now enraged monstrosity, and push him into the burning hospital, causing the sailor to burn to death. Two Ethereal steel plated women wielding tridents float from above them and help the men fight off the second attacker, who comes up from behind and attempts to grapple Aerias against a tree. Aerias notices that this is the shambling man that he chased through the woods, but he went through the same transformation as the sailor they just killed. With the help of the beings, the duo managed to take out the monster. The strange Ethereal beings speak in a strange way, one that neither Hurricane or Aerias can understand, but through deduction, Aerias figures that they are angels of Oceania, warriors of the goddess Oceania, sworn to protect those on her soil.   After examining the body, Aerias notices a note and a broken syringe, as well as a puncture wound, assumedly from the syringe. The note is written in the Quattuor language, and he can't understand what it says. However, it entails the fact that the Quattuor have siphoned their blood and created it into a serum that they can inject into humans that make them enraged and animalistic, and they grow arms, similar to the Quattuor.

Summary

Historical Basis

This invasion did actually happen, but it seems that every single person of Oceania has no recollection of it, which is incredibly odd, since it was very bad.

There are no variations, since nobody talks about this, since it was forgotten immediately, strangely enough.

Cultural Reception

Unknown, people were incredibly fearful of the invasion, but immediately afterwards, it was seemingly forgotten.
